How to Become Part of Perrott Hill Prague

Get in touch by phone, email, or simply fill out the application form. We’ll provide basic information and schedule an appointment to discuss your child's educational journey.

Personal Meeting

If you're in the Czech Republic, we invite you and your child for a school tour and to discuss key details. If you're abroad, we can arrange an online meeting and pre-registration.

Entrance Interview

Younger children joining Early Years can experience a trial day. Older students from Year 2 to Year 13 will attend an interview and entrance test or have a trial day if preferred.

Registration

Submit the required registration documents, and we'll prepare a registration agreement and send the first invoice electronically for your convenience.

Student Enrollment

Upon payment, your child's registration is complete, and they are ready to start their educational journey with us.

Who Can Join Us?

We welcome children and students aged 3 to 18:

Subject to availability, students can join any year group based on their age and prior education.

When to Apply?

You can apply at any time during the academic year. However, if you plan to start at the beginning of the new academic year (September), official school registrations open in January. The sooner you contact us, the more smoothly we can navigate the process together. That being said, we are fully equipped to handle last-minute applications – simply get in touch.

Entrance Tests and Meetings

The word “test” alone can cause a little apprehension for children – and often parents, too. At Perrott Hill Prague, however, we approach everything with care, empathy, and understanding. Our goal is never to stress pupils or catch them out. The entrance assessment and interview serve solely to help us understand your child’s current level of knowledge. This allows us to place them in the appropriate year group and offer tailored support if needed (such as SEN support or adaptation assistance). The entrance test varies by year group. It aligns with the British National Curriculum and is structured as Key Stage Tests or AS/A Level Tests (depending on the entry year). All assessments are conducted in English.

To help preschool children transition smoothly, we invite them to a test day where they can play, explore, and experience a typical school day as they would after enrolling.

Test duration: 40-50 minutes

Type of questions: choice of variants, open answers, short essay, and text comprehension

Required Documentation for School Admission

To complete your application, please provide the following documents:

  • Completed application form with a current photograph of the child/student
  • Copy of the child’s birth certificate (and passport copy, if applicable)
  • ID or passport copies of both parents / legal guardians
  • Completed medical report (certificate of fitness)

If applicable, you may also provide us with your child’s most recent school report or a reference from their former/current school.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can contact us at any time during the year. Official registrations for the following academic year open 9 months in advance (e.g., in January for a September start). Reaching out early gives us ample time to prepare for your child’s enrolment and ensures they can experience a taster day. If needed, however, we can complete the entire admissions process in just a few days. We adapt everything to your schedule, time frame, and preferred start date.

Yes, though the format depends on the applicant’s age and enrolment date. Younger children can attend a taster day in class, while older students take an assessment in English and Mathematics (and Natural Sciences where applicable), followed by a short interview – either in person or online. The tests are based on the British National Curriculum and are conducted in English. They serve to verify the student’s knowledge for correct placement and to establish any academic or language support if required.

Yes. Provided there is capacity in the requested year group and all academic criteria are met, students are welcome to join us during the academic year.

Please do not be discouraged – reach out to us! The admissions process is designed precisely to assess where your child currently stands. In the vast majority of cases, we can provide additional academic or language support (including SEN) during their studies.

Our adaptation process is highly personalized. We work closely with parents and our teaching team. For both younger and older newcomers, we also use a proven “buddy system” – pairing each new student with a classmate who helps them settle into their new environment and feel at home from day one.
